NATIONAL LICA OFFICER PROGRESSION
1) Active Member
Active dues paying member of a State Chapter within the designated region
2) Committee Chairperson
Appointed and elected for a one-year term and assume their positions after the annual meeting.
Chairpersons may serve any number of consecutive terms.
Responsibilities:
- Lead meeting agenda.
- Appoint a person to take meeting minutes.
3) Regional Vice President (RVP)
Elected by State Chapter presidents or equivalent officers in the region.
Serves a two-year term.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate programs, projects, and activities.
- Implement LICA policy for State Chapters in the region.
- Conduct regional meetings before annual meetings and coordinate election of incoming RVP.
- Represent region at National Executive Committee meetings and provide report of regional activity.
- Submit written reports of meetings to state chapter presidents and executive directors.
4) National Vice President
Eligibility after serving as RVP.
Elected during the annual meeting by the delegate body.
Serve a one-year term.
Automatically assume the position of President the following year.
Responsibilities:
- Support the President and assume their duties when absent.
- Perform duties assigned by the Board.
5) National President:
- Highest elected position in LICA.
- Serve a one-year term.
- Automatically assume the position of Chairperson the following year.
Responsibilities:
- Preside at all annual Delegates' Meetings and Executive Committee.
- Sign authorized instruments.
- Appoint committee members with Board approval.
- Fulfill other duties directed by the Board.
6) National Chairperson:
Serve a one-year term.
Responsibilities:
- Represent the association.
- Preside over the National Board Meeting.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the organization.
- Ensure the Board's effectiveness.
